ACLS Provider and ACLS Update / Renewal

The American Heart Association’s Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) class is designed for healthcare professionals who direct or participate in response management of cardiopulmonary arrest, or other cardiovascular.

This course teaches:

  • Basic life support skills, including performing high-quality chest compressions, using of a bag-mask device, and use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

  • Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest situations

  • Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia

  • Airway management, including intubation

  • Administration of approved pharmaceuticals

  • Management of Acute Coronary Symptoms (ACS) and stroke

  • Effective communication as a leader or member of a resuscitation team

 

The ACLS Provider (Initial) Course typically takes 12 hours to complete, and is taught over two consecutive days in our classroom at the Melbourne Square Mall, from 8:30am to 4:30pm on the first day and from 8:30am to about 12:30pm. A pre-course assessment is required before arriving to class. Students must bring a scoring report showing a 70% or better score. The AHA also requires students to have a current ACLS Provider manual. We have hardcopies available for sale in the classroom. You can purchase the textbook at the same time that you book your seat in the class.

The ACLS Renewal/Update Course typically takes eight hours to complete, and is taught in one day at our classroom at the Melbourne Square Mall, from 8:30am to 4:30pm. A pre-course assessment is required before arriving to class. Students must bring a scoring report showing a 70% or better score. The AHA also requires students to have a current ACLS Provider manual. We have hardcopies available for sale in the classroom. You can purchase the textbook at the same time that you book your seat in the class.

Our ACLS Instructor is Meghan Fife, a licensed Paramedic and authorized by the American Heart Association to teach BLS, ACLS and PALS.

Our Instructor-led, hands-on class format reinforces skills proficiency and teaches the importance of preventing cardiac arrest, high-performance teams, early and continuous high-quality CPR, systems of care, recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, post-cardiac arrest care, acute dysrhythmias, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes (ACS).

Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years. Please contact your employer to ensure that you are selecting the correct course.
